Looking for a fun-filled family day out this half term? There’s plenty to look forward to at Taunton Brewhouse with two critically acclaimed touring shows, Unbelievable Science and The Amazing Bubble Man, plus the chance to learn how to paint graffiti!
On 14 February, expect captivating chemistry, phenomenal physics, and bonkers biology in this fun for all the family extravaganza, Morgan & West: Unbelievable Science! Fires, explosions, lightning on stage, optical illusions, mass audience experiments, and 3D shadow puppets await all those wily enough to come along and be intrigued by wonderful world of science.
After over a decade of magic shows delighting young and old alike, Morgan & West are one of the most recognisable conjuring acts on the UK touring circuit. However, they are also Oxford graduates with degrees in physics and chemistry, and fully qualified secondary school teachers to boot. Their brand-new show Unbelievable Science combines their trademark showmanship and silliness with genuine scientific knowledge and lifelong love of learning to create a spectacular all ages science show the like of which audiences have never seen. It’s time to throw out the jargon and make everything plain, simple, clear, and enormously exciting!
Before turning their particular entertainment style to science communication, they have been performing their unique magic shows across the UK and around the world, including sell-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe, Perth Fringe, Adelaide Fringe where they were nominated for ‘Best Family Show’, and Buxton Fringe where they were awarded ‘Best Comedy Show’. They have also appeared on The Next Great Magician (ITV), Penn & Teller: Fool Us (ITV), and The Slammer (CBBC).
Later that week on 16 February, The Amazing Bubble Man returns with a breathtaking show that combines comedy and artistry with audience participation and enough spellbinding bubble tricks to keep everyone mesmerized. From square bubbles, bubbles inside bubbles, fog-filled bubbles, giant bubbles, bubble volcanoes, tornados and trampolines to people inside bubbles, The Amazing Bubble Man conjures shrieks of laughter and gasps of amazement from all ages.
Louis Pearl has been thrilling audiences around the world for over 30 years with the art, magic, science and fun of bubbles. He is a favourite at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where he has enjoyed twelve years of sell-out success, with many successful performances in Taunton.
Finish half term in style on Sunday 19 February with our Graffiti Workshop for Kids. Paint your name in graffiti using water-based spray paint with the help and guidance of professional graffiti artist Steve Fitzpatrick. Participants will also be able to paint another board using a mixture of freehand spray painting and pre-cut stencils. Full personal protective clothing is provided, and everyone gets to take their artwork home!
