Immersive yourself in a week of artistic exploration with our Visual Arts Summer School. From willow weaving to digital illustration, you’ll get the full creative package.
Workshops are available to book individually, or book all 5 and save £26!
Each day starts at 10am and finishes at 3.30pm. Please bring along your own packed lunch, a drink and an apron each day. Young people will be supervised for the whole day including their lunch break.
Monday 12 August – Willow Sculpture
Embrace the magic of nature with our Willow Sculpture workshop and learn how to make a whimsical hanging mobile decorated with willow hearts, stars, and woodland animals.
Tuesday 13 August – Digital Art
Enjoy a crash course in Procreate and Paper by WeTransfer and learn how to paint and draw colourful creatures/characters in your own virtual sketchbook. Please bring a fully charged iPad or iPhone with Procreate and Paper by WeTransfer already installed. Data cables and a stylus are also useful but not compulsory.
Wednesday 14 August – Landscape Sculpture
Taking inspiration from sculptor and artist Barbara Hepworth, explore a range of sculpting materials and use airy dry clay and natural objects to create your own 3D vessels inspired by the local landscape. You’ll also get the opportunity to try out wire and paper assemblage.
Thursday 15 August – Mixed Media Printmaking
Explore a variety of experimental processes, from monoprinting and block printing, to making your own painted papers and paintbrushes, before combining these techniques to craft your very own unique handmade artist book.
Friday 16 August – Polymer Clay
Learn how to make keyrings, bookmarks, and jewellery using our colourful collection of polymer clay, paint, glitter, and metal leaf.
