Be inspired by the beautiful geometric patterns of Moroccan art, creating interesting designs to develop into a mixed media collage.
Over this 3-week course, you’ll develop an understanding of mixed media art by creating your own collaging papers, layering a variety of paints, plaster, distressing techniques, and working into the design. Having constructed an interesting base, you’ll then work in a combination of washes, stencilling, drawn marks, metallic details, and even stitching to create an atmospheric image, building a complex surface.
By the end of the course, you’ll have completed a stunning mixed media canvas inspired by geometric patterns to take away with you, as well as the confidence to pursue this interesting media. Please bring along a pencil, eraser, ruler, sharpener, and apron – it will get messy!
