We recently announced our summer season which includes a selection of live performances, film screenings, and weekly classes and workshops.
The season starts with a star-studded line up of comedy acts, including stand-ups Sara Pascoe, Reginald D. Hunter, Danny Baker, and Maisie Adam, plus top observational comedy from viral sensation Simon Brodkin, sitcom star Tom Rosenthal (Friday Night Dinner, Plebs), and the gloriously outrageous Scummy Mummies.
Comedy also takes a theatrical turn with a trio of mystery-infused shows. Murder She Didn’t Write puts you in charge of the clues in a fully improvised whodunnit from Fringe favourites Degrees of Error; A Shoddy Detective delivers high-energy slapstick as chaos unfolds at a country manor; and cult hit Solve-Along-A-Murder-She-Wrote brings interactive crime-solving, quizzes, and campy nostalgia to the stage.

This season’s drama offers haunting tales and heart-wrenching stories with the eerie 47 – A Ghost Story, Just Between Ourselves, and Airswimming. Plus, outdoor theatre makes an exciting return with a Shakespearean double-bill at Taunton’s Castle Gardens. Four Forty Theatre bring a fast-paced and hilarious re-enactment of Macbeth and Much Ado About Nothing – with both plays being performed by just four actors in 40 minutes each!
Our stage is also bursting with exciting family shows for all ages. Younger audiences can enjoy prehistoric delights such as Dinosaur World Live or experience their favourite stories brought to life with book-to-stage adaptations of The Worst Princess, The Museum of Marvellous Things, Spot’s Birthday Party, and The Dinosaur that Pooped.

Music fans are in for an even bigger treat with award-winning tributes to Ed Sheeran, Johnny Cash, Fleetwood Mac, The Carpenters, Queen, and many more, alongside intimate gigs from folk, classical, and acoustic stars. Highlights include Sound of the Sirens, prolific pianist and composer Simeon Walker, and the incredible Belgrave House Band, who celebrate the life and legacy of Amy Winehouse.
We are also thrilled to be welcoming back acclaimed poets Brian Bilston and Henry Normal, who will be drawing on their vast catalogue of crowd favourites, as well as hosting legendary actor John Cleese for an afternoon of inspiring anecdotes. Born locally in Weston-super-Mare, John is best known for his successful career in film and television, performing in comedy classics such as Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, and A Fish Called Wanda.

Alongside live theatre, there’s plenty of activities to take part in. Classes include everything from dance and drama, to art and creative writing, giving you the opportunity to explore your passions in a friendly and supportive environment. For those looking to develop their knowledge, workshops in embroidery, paper quilling, lino printing, and jewellery making offer a chance to refine skills and try something new.
We’re also offering a diverse selection of films, from the latest Hollywood blockbusters to critically acclaimed releases. Enjoy live and recorded broadcasts from the Royal Ballet and Opera, as well as Exhibition on Screen and National Theatre Live.

Don’t forget to also pop by the Theatre Café & Bar, open weekdays from 10am – 3pm. It’s the perfect spot to relax, unwind, and immerse yourself in the world of theatre.
