Did you know recycling just one aluminium can generates enough energy to power a TV for three hours?
In line with new legislation, we are adopting new recycling measures to ensure that as little waste as possible is sent to landfill. We are working with Taunton Town Council and Somerset Council to support their net zero goals, and we hope that you will be pleased to see these new measures being taken.
We have introduced new bins in all areas of our business to separate General Waste from Dry Mixed Recycling, which are easily visible and well signposted in the venue. They are distinguished by different colour lids: black for general waste, and green for dry mixed recycling.
Not sure how to separate your waste? There are handy posters above each bin to indicate what can and can’t be recycled. Please note, disposable coffee cups cannot go into dry mixed recycling as they contain a thin plastic lining to keep them waterproof.
Please put your coffee cups into the general waste bin. Glass bottles should be returned to the bar for recycling. Please remember that anything that doesn’t go into the dry mixed recycling bins will end up going to landfill.
We will continue to monitor data from our recycling partner, Veolia, to ensure that we are doing everything we can to be more sustainable. We hope that later in the year we will be able to share some of this data with our visitors to evidence the difference we are making.
So, when you visit, please do place your waste in the right bin and help us promote an environmentally sustainable future for all.
Remember, together, we can make a difference.
