We are thrilled to announce the cast of our highly anticipated Christmas musical, Pinocchio, which runs from Wednesday 4 – Sunday 29 December.
This exciting new production, directed and written by Emma Williams, features a talented cast of professional actors who will bring the beloved story to life. This new version also features a 16-strong youth ensemble, many of which are local to the area.
The main cast includes:
Emile Clarke as Papa Blue/Geppetto – Credits include REMYTHED (BetnLev Theatre), Crimes On Centre Court (New Old Friends/ Theatre Royal Bath), and A Christmas Getaway (New Old Friends/The Ustinov).
Jowan Jacobs as Sid/Pinocchio – Jowan is a Cornish actor from Penzance and one of the founding members of Out of Pocket Theatre. His credits include Before I Wake (The Minack Theatre) and Wildworks’ Meet Me at The Edge. He also appeared in Mark Jenkins’ BAFTA winning BAIT and Fisherman’s Friends 2.
Vic Llewellyn as Mule – Somerset-based Vic has been making theatre for over 30 years, both nationally and internationally. His credits include No One is Listening (A Ghost Story) (UK Tour), A Little Death and The Castle Builder (Bristol Old Vic), and Satyagraha (English National Opera / The Metropolitan Opera).
Sedona Rose as Big Fish – Sedona loves to create her own work, having developed and performed many of her own circus cabaret acts. Her credits include The Good, The Bad & The Coyote Ugly (The Wardrobe Theatre), Polly The Heartbreak Opera (UK Tour and The Pleasance London), and Astley’s Astounding Adventures (The New Vic).
Gabrielle Sheppard as Cricket – Her credits include Julius Caesar (Southwark Playhouse), Henry I (UK Tour), and The Outlaws (BBC/Amazon). Graduating from East 15’s Contemporary Theatre course and Bristol Old Vic’s Made in Bristol, her own work has played Vault Festival, Bristol Old Vic, and the National Theatre.
Pinocchio is directed by Emma Williams, with music by Thomas Johnson and lyrics by Emma Williams and Vic Llewellyn. Transforming the stage will be Katie Sykes as Set and Costume Designer, and Jane Lalljee as Lighting Designer.
As part of our commitment to supporting the local community, we are also collaborating with local charity Taunton Foodbank to fund free theatre tickets for families who would otherwise not be able to attend the event. When purchasing tickets, you will be given the option to contribute to our Pay It Forward campaign. This enables every donation to go directly toward providing tickets for those in need. We are also offering British Sign Language (BSL) interpreted performances on 7 and 12 December, an Audio Described performance on 13 December, and a Relaxed Performance on 27 December to ensure everyone can enjoy the show in a way that suits their needs.
