After many years of collaborating in various guises, Nick Hart and Tom Moore are finally on the road as a duo. Both renowned interpreters of English traditional music, Tom’s playing has been described as “ingenious” (The Guardian) and “irresistible” (The Independent), while Nick has been called “…probably the finest interpreter of traditional English folk songs this generation has produced…” (tradfolk.co).

The unusual combination of Tom’s viola and Nick’s tenor viol creates a rich set of textures with which they explore a variety of traditional songs and tunes. The result is an absorbing expression of English music by two master players.

2023 Saw the release of their first LP, ‘The Colour of Amber’, which quickly garnered much critical acclaim and featured in many top ten lists for the year, being described as “An inspired pairing of two musicians at the top of their game.” (Folk London) and “…head and shoulders above just about any English traditional album of the last few years” (FRUK).

“The Colour of Amber breaks new ground musically, the viola and viol combination creating a unique setting that sounds both ancient and completely fresh, capable of adding richness and depth to the songs and tunes. This first album from the duo stands head and shoulders above just about any other English traditional album of the last few years”
FOLK RADIO UK
