Join us for a business networking evening with keynote speaker Alexis Bowater OBE, award-winning journalist, broadcaster and campaigner, and founder of the West Country Women’s Awards. Alexis will deliver a motivational speech in the main house, followed by networking and drinks, with each ticket including a welcome drink.
A Northcliffe-trained journalist, Alexis spent more than two decades in newspapers and television, including seven years as a lead anchor, reporter and producer for ITV Westcountry News, winning seven Best Programme Royal Television Society awards and ITV’s national Silver Award for coverage of the Boscastle disaster.
After leaving broadcast journalism, Alexis became campaigning Chief Executive of the charity Network for Surviving Stalking, helping to change UK law and working with the Council of Europe to embed anti-stalking legislation and victim support within the Istanbul Convention across 46 member states.
Passionate about powerful communication, Alexis draws on her experience on both sides of the camera to help leaders and organisations find clarity, confidence and public impact. A judge for the Royal Television Society, she is proud to champion excellence in UK media.
Alexis was also Project Lead for the Lady Astor Statue Campaign, raising more than £140,000 and delivering a landmark public monument on Plymouth Hoe, unveiled in 2019 by former Prime Minister Theresa May, with Boris Johnson attending the post-unveiling reception.
