A bold live show exploring the importance, power and vulnerability of the sea through design and sound. Tidal Tales Theatre share local stories & songs alongside those of other countries, exploring the commonality of all people, our interwoven history and our reliance on the health of our planet.
Stars and Sails is a collaboration with audio-visual tech designer Bea Wilson, musician Jack Salt and director Emma Callander. It is suitable for all ages but recommended for 5 years plus. It features local sea shanties, ancient world music & folk stories, and historical sea farers. Using the layers of a loop station along with live vocals, puppetry and storytelling. Design is centred around junk modelling, using marine detritus to create costume, props and set with repurposed sails.
