Reduction lino printing is a relief printing technique which involves cutting and printing several layers of colour from the same block of lino to build up an image.

Inspired by the natural forms of and the work of printmaker, painter, and designer Angie Lewin, you will be given demonstrations that show you the key stages and principles of the technique, enabling you to plan and print your design with the tutors’ guidance.

You will be using soft cut vinyl type lino which is very easy to cut and print from, and water based inks which are easy to clean up and dry quickly.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP LEADER:

The course is led by Lynne Mackay, an artist and secondary school art teacher for over 20 years. As a farmer’s daughter growing up on the Somerset Levels, she has always had a huge passion for natural beauty. Lynne is inspired by the surrounding landscapes, flora, and fauna of the Somerset Levels and Cornish seascapes.

Lynne loves to capture treasured memories in pencil, acrylic, and watercolour painting, reduction lino printing, hand embroidered felt appliqué, and machine embroidery.
