This 3-week Mixed Media Landscape course is intended for creatives of all skill levels as a fun way to create and experiment with layering of watercolours, collage, ink, oil pastels, paints, and acrylic ink to bring a winter landscape to life.
By the end of this class, you’ll have explored ways of combining materials in response to the mood, textures, and colours your reference photographs. This playful, dynamic approach to landscape will free-up the creative process, help to generate ways of producing different effects to give your images more texture, depth, and individuality. Please bring pencils, eraser, sharpener, an apron, and landscape photographs of your own choice for reference, however a folder of landscape images is available.
About the workshop leader:
The course is led by Lynne Mackay, an artist and secondary school art teacher for over 20 years. As a farmer’s daughter growing up on the Somerset Levels, she has always had a huge passion for natural beauty. Lynne is inspired by the surrounding landscapes, flora and fauna of the Somerset Levels and Cornish seascapes.
Lynne loves to capture treasured memories in pencil, acrylic and watercolour painting, reduction lino printing, hand embroidered felt appliqué and machine embroidery.
