In this workshop local artist Ione Maria Rojas will show you how to make richly coloured inks from foraged plants, kitchen scraps and food waste. We’ll use these to explore different mark making techniques, freeing up your creativity to lose the fear of the blank page. After lunch we’ll use these to create mini collaged booklets, which you’ll take home with you as a memento and reminder of how to make your own inks.

Ione Maria Rojas likes working with earth, ink, plants and people. She’s interested in how working with our hands invites us into different forms of connection – with ourselves, with others, with our immediate environment. Her practice is multidisciplinary and includes: digging clay, making inks and pigments with found and foraged materials, walking, drawing, writing, facilitating, sowing seeds and listening to birds.

This workshop has a break between 12pm and 2pm to allow the ink to dry. All materials are included within the cost of the workshop, as well as a free tea or coffee.
