Fluffy Cloud Wall Hanging

Join textile artist Rachel Watkins and learn how to make a cloud wall hanging for your room.

Learn the exciting creative technique of weaving loose fibres on a frame loom, creating a fluffy cloud and a a rainbow of colours hanging from it. Rachel will guide you through the whole process, from choosing colours to stringing the loom and finishing techniques.

All materials required to complete your wall hanging will be provided including a frame loom, weaving tools, an oak dowel, and a wide selection of luxurious natural yarns and recycled fibres to choose from on the day. The finished cloud will measure approximately 15cm x 30cm.

This workshop is for children and young people aged 8+ accompanied by an adult. Adults are attending to support their child rather than take part themselves. Tickets are for 1 child and 1 adult. If you are attending with several children, each child will require a ticket.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP LEADER:

Rachel’s lifelong passion for making things with wool led her to discover the art of small frame loom weaving a decade or so ago, igniting a love for tactile and colourful fibre creations. She draws inspiration from the beauty of the world around her, transforming these elements into inviting artwork for the home.

As the workshop leader, Rachel brings a wealth of experience as a learning and development specialist, and will utilise her group facilitation skills to create a welcoming, fun, and friendly atmosphere for all participants. She invites you to come and tap into your inner creativity, learn new skills, and revel in the joy of crafting with luxurious natural fibres.

Open Monday to Friday from 10am – 3pm, we serve a delicious range of light lunches, snacks, and hot and cold drinks – perfect for refuelling. If the café isn’t open during your visit, you’re more than welcome to bring your own packed lunch and drinks to enjoy.
