A one day acrylic painting and drawing workshop led by Sara Dudman RWA.

This acrylic painting workshop will focus on techniques to generate vitality, light, movement, and energy, evoking the drama and elemental nature of the sea.

Focussing on increasing confidence and technical skills in acrylic painting and drawing, as well as pushing the boundaries of figuration/abstraction, this workshop draws on Sara’s own knowledge and painting processes, as well as taking inspiration from the work of JMW Turner. A looseness of style, vitality and gestural marks are the hallmarks of Sara’s paintings.

During the day, Sara will guide you through tried and trusted ideas and techniques for creating expressive paintings. The day will include a series of drawings and paint experiments, along with every participant creating their own acrylic painting on canvas (approx. 30 x 40cms).

The day will include experimental and collaborative activities intended to help loosen up and stretch participants’ ambitions, in addition to individual paintings and drawings.
