Based on the 1989 cult classic film starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, the musical adaptation follows Westerberg High student Veronica Sawyer, whose dreams of popularity finally start to come true when she’s taken under the wings of the three beautiful, yet impossibly cruel Heathers. But when mysterious new kid, teen rebel J.D arrives in town, Veronica realises that whilst it might kill to be a nobody, it’s murder being a somebody…

Captured in its original London home, The Other Palace, this wickedly funny, award-winning production will be shown as a one night special event in cinemas nationwide.

The live recording of Heathers the Musical at The Other Palace stars Ailsa Davidson as Veronica Sawyer, Simon Gordon as J.D., Maddison Firth as Heather Chandler, Vivian Panka as Heather Duke, Teleri Hughes as Heather McNamara, Mhairi Angus as Martha Dunnstock, and Vicki Lee Taylor as Ms. Fleming / Veronica’s mum. The cast is complete by Liam Doyle as Kurt Kelly, Rory Phelan as Ram Sweeney, Andy Brady as Ram’s Dad / Veronica’s Dad / Coach Ripper, Oliver Brooks as Kurt’s Dad / Big Bud Dean / Principal Gowan, with Jermaine Woods (Preppy Stud), Benjamin Karran (Beleaguered Geek), Chris Parkinson (Hipster Dork), Eleanor Morrison-Halliday (Young Republicanette), Mary-Jean Caldwell (Stoner Chick), Hannah Lowther (New Wave Party Girl) and May Tether (Drama Club Drama Queen).

About Heathers The Musical

Wickedly funny, with dazzling book, music and lyrics by Tony Award-nominated, Legally Blonde composer, Laurence O’Keefe, and Emmy-winning Reefer Madness author Kevin Murphy, Heathers the Musical is directed by acclaimed screen and stage director Andy Fickman, with electrifying choreography by Gary Lloyd (Thriller Live, Carrie, 20th Century Boy).

The live recording was captured in its original London home, The Other Palace where the stage show made its U.K. debut in 2018. Based on the 1988 cult hit film starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, The musical, according to the creators, ‘turns the late 80s classic into a tuneful, darkly comic, and ultimately touching and hopeful stage musical’.

Fickman, Murphy and O’Keefe produce, along with Village Roadshow Pictures (VRP) and Bill Kenwright’s BKStudios (the team behind the acclaimed stage adaptation of Carrie). Director Andy Fickman said: ‘Heathers has captured the hearts and imaginations of so many people in the UK since it was first produced here in 2018. This marks an exciting next step in the show’s journey.’

The film has been created by Steam Motion and Sound, who are also currently working on screen captures of Waitress, Bonnie and Clyde and The Prince of Egypt.
