Creative Warm Spaces: Free Activities

Join us to find a Creative Warm Space this winter. A cosy time to meet new friends, try a new craft or art form, enjoy the company of like minded people and take advantage of our £2 lunch offer (soup and roll). There will be a different activity each day of the week for an hour but you are welcome to stay longer in the café area to chat with your new friends. There’s no need to book a ticket just turn up and join in. Ask at the box office where to go and our friendly team will point you in the right direction. Activities are free and materials are all included. However, you are welcome to bring along your own projects if you like.

Sessions start on Monday 4 December 2023 and run until Friday 1 March 2024. Please note, there are no sessions from Friday 23 December 2023 to Monday 8 January 2024.

Mondays
Book and Film Club
13:00 – 14:00 | Cafe

We have chosen to read The Vanishing of Margaret Small together over the next month. You can download it for free as an ebook or audiobook on the library app BorrowBox. In January, we will watch the Taunton Brewhouse Movie Monday films together and then meet afterwards to discuss in the café.

Tuesdays
Creative Movement
11:15 – 12:00 | Studio

It is never too late to join a dance class. This class offers a collaborative space to play and engage with movement creatively. Come and socialise while being energised. This class is open to all abilities and allows you to work at your own pace. Enjoy a creative release that promotes positive health, fitness and wellbeing. Tickets can be booked in advance via the website as places limited to 12.

Crafty Companions
11:00 – 12:00 | Cafe

Fancy trying something new? Come along to crafty companions to try out all sorts of different craft activities. Ideas planed for the first few weeks of this club include mandala painting, origami, biscuit decoration and making garden ornaments. All materials are included and free. You may discover a new hobby!

Thursdays
Sit and Knit
11:00 – 12:00 | Cafe

The aim of Sit & Knit with Hurd & Co is to encourage chatter and laughter whilst we knit together. You can make new friends and develop a skill that will bring joy and relaxation. The relaxed atmosphere is ideal for beginners and advanced knitters alike, all are welcome. Bring along your current project or come to learn the basics with Dawn.

Fridays
Puzzle Club
11:00 – 12:00 | Cafe

Work together or enjoy a quiet moment by yourself trying out a selection of fun puzzles. We will have sudoku puzzles, crosswords, maths board games and other activities to look at.
