Throughout the school summer holidays, we’re offering children and young people a chance to get creative on a Tuesday! There’s something different each week so have a look at the programme and book your summer inspiration – try theatre, willow weaving, film making, dance, craft, print making and more. You’ll get the chance to meet some of our regular workshop leaders so if you love your session look out for our winter programme to book your return visit.
You can book for a single workshop or join us for all of them! Limited spaces available so book now to not miss out.
Times: 2.30pm – 6.30pm including dinner
Age: 12-17 years
Each workshop will finish with a hot meal freshly prepared in the Brewhouse kitchen, the group will eat together in the newly refurbished Westward Room and this is included in the ticket price. Meals can be vegetarian and workshop participants will be involved in some of the meal preparations. Please let us know when booking your ticket of any allergies or food intolerances so that we can plan ahead.
ABOUT THE WORKSHOPS
Contemporary Theatre (25 July)
If you’re interested in acting or passionate about performance, then this is the workshop for you. During the 3-hour session, participants will explore voice, movement and skills helpful to mastering a successful audition. Of course, lots of laughs, fun and games guaranteed too!
Willow Sculpture (1 August)
Make small willow pieces including hearts, fish, stars and trees. Make something to take home and work together to make something to leave at the Brewhouse to be displayed. No previous experience is needed as Amanda will guide you through the process although the number and complexity of the pieces made will depend on the individual child. All materials are provided.
Samba plus Pizza Making (15 August) – CANCELLED
Do you want to be part of a Samba band? Experience playing different parts within this eclectic beat. Work as a team to follow simple instructions to create epic pieces and feel your body moving to the beat. During the session you will experience playing the various instruments that make up a Samba band and using simple word rhythms be part of a band making professional sounding music quickly. Afterwards, join a chef in the kitchen to learn how to make your own pizzas.
Film Making (22 August)
Create and VJ with tik-tok style videos to help get yourself moving! Learn how to use green screen, VJing software and camera equipment plus we’ll record sounds to help you to unwind after exercise. All equipment provided. No experience necessary. Just wear clothes that you can move in.
