An adaptation of Claire Keegan’s acclaimed short story ‘Foster’, Colm Bairéad’s Irish-language debut film follows nine-year-old Cait, a quiet, neglected girl who is sent away from her dysfunctional family to live with foster parents for the summer. She blossoms in their care, but in this house where there are meant to be no secrets, she discovers one.
Set in 1981, this is a story about coming to terms with loss and the importance of family in rural Ireland.
