Art journals, visual journals, scrapbooks, junk journals and sketchbooks are all places for creating art on paper with themes linked to whatever concerns or interests you the most in your life. The art journal, specifically, may be viewed as a record keeper of thoughts, feelings, people, places, hopes and dreams or simply as a safe, non judgemental, place where your creativity may be set free to flourish through the use of colour, imagery and text. The focus of art journaling is the creative process itself which brings with it, the wonderful additional benefit of being an excellent stress reducing practice of self care and relaxation.

In this unique workshop you will be learning about the creative techniques, approaches, styles and media necessary to create and maintain your own unique mixed media art journal and be given a starter pack to help you begin your creative journey. Together with other media, you will use the images and text provided in the pack, to create personalised art journal postcards. The postcards are samples of mixed media journal pages and may be incorporated into any journal or placed around your home as mini works of positive art. The colourful pack is yours to take home and keep working with, together with the cards you create during the workshop.

This workshop is open to all adults over the age of sixteen, from beginners to improvers and for those interested in exploring a new, creative, fun and relaxing pastime.  All materials are provided by the tutor.
